Annual Fire & Safety Reports
In November, 1990, the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act was signed into law (Public Law 101- 542 as amended by Public Law 102-26 and The Higher Education Amendments of 1992). This law, known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, requires educational institutions to publish and distribute an annual security report containing campus security policies and procedures as well as campus crime statistics. The Higher Education Act of 2008 created additional requirements to disclose policies related to fire safety, missing persons and emergency notification. In 2013, the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act further expanded the requirements for policies and crime data collection. This document is published and distributed to the students and employees of each college in compliance with that act.
