Albany, N.Y., February 1, 2007—Albany Medical Center’s 23rd annual “Dancing in the Woods” champagne ball, which benefits the region’s only Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders, raised more than $365,000.
The December 1 event, one of the most popular holiday events in the Capital Region, was held at the Riverview Center, 150 Broadway, Menands. Nearly 1,400 people attended the ball. Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (CDPHP) sponsored the event as part of its ongoing commitment to support the fundraiser.
The Center is the region’s only child and adolescent cancer and blood disorders program. Each year, the program helps more than 200 children and families whose active therapies include treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation. In addition, continuing care is provided for more than 500 childhood cancer survivors each year.
Albany Medical Center is northeastern New York’s only academic health sciences center. It consists of Albany Medical College, Albany Medical Center Hospital and the Albany Medical Center Foundation, Inc. Additional information about Albany Medical Center can be found at www.amc.edu.
