ALBANY, N.Y., December 1, 2005 — Louis Filhour has joined the staff at Albany Medical Center as senior vice president for clinical quality. He is responsible for coordinating the efforts of AMC’s medical and professional staffs in the ongoing design, organization and implementation of a clinical quality plan. Filhour also serves as the Hospital’s clinical executive liaison to information systems.
Filhour comes to AMC from Evergreen Hospital Medical Center, just outside of Seattle. There, he served as senior vice president of patient care services and oversaw the implementation of a hospital-wide integrated clinical information system. He held a similar position at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and Mercy Children’s Hospital in Toledo.
Filhour earned a degree at Boston College to become a cardiovascular clinical nurse specialist. His postgraduate education has also included doctoral work in executive leadership at Case Western Reserve University. He has held many administrative positions including nursing supervisor, assistant director of critical care/trauma nursing, director of nursing and chief nursing officer in a variety of hospitals.
Filhour lives in Albany.
