ALBANY, N.Y., Sept. 23, 2005 — Raquel Tapia, M.D., has been appointed an assistant professor of pediatrics at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Tapia is specially trained in pediatric nephrology and has expertise in the management of acute and chronic kidney diseases, renal replacement therapies, hemodialysis and renal transplantation.
Dr. Tapia recently completed a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in New York City. She received her medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo and completed a residency at the Woodhull Medical And Mental Health Center in Brooklyn, New York. She was also a research fellow at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.
Dr. Tapia is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Renal Physician Association and the American Society of Transplantation.
Dr. Tapia currently resides in Rensselaer.
